Catholics, how have you come to terms with all the abuse?

I was raised in the Catholic tradition and as the saying goes, "once a Catholic, always a Catholic." However, what becomes of believers like me that find fault with any organization that harbors child molestors and deranged bishops that deny the horrible deaths of 6 million Jews? I only go to church on obligation days because I sit in the pew highly suspect of the newest priest. I seem to (mostly)trust only the ones from foreign countries. I will never, ever let my son be alone with a priest. So am I a hypocrite to even attend? What becomes of the disenfranchised Catholics like me who believe in Christ's message but are fed up with the corruption? I have no desire to become a protestant as they seem like a watered down version of Catholicism and I will never be a zealot like most fundamentalists are.
