Is sleep like a log a metaphor or a simile?

its difinately a similie.. you are comaring sleeping to a log.. they are both laying down.. and very still.. (almost dead-like).. and for similies, you usually compare using LIKE or AS.. whereas for a metaphor, you dont use like or as..
