Maybe somebody could help me with this NBA question?

Im wondering how it is possible for Moe Cheeks to get fired at the beginning of the season after getting his team into the playoffs last year (and for that matter Flip Saunders in DET) BUT that idiot Kevin McHale keeps his job??? HOW is this possible? This is the worst case of a single man destroying a franchise in any sport that I can think of. Why isn't he gone? Is there anybody in any other sport that has made such a consistent embarrment of a franchise?
