Are these signs of Asperger's Syndrome?

There are lots of symptoms for Asberger's syndrome. Take your child to a neurologist and get a diagnosis. Since this is your nephew, the child's mom may not agree to this. A lot of parents live in denial. There are all kinds of check off lists that could guide you in a diagnosis but no diagnosis is a good one unless made by someone trained in these specific conditions. Don't mess around with kids. Intervention at an early stage is easier than intervention at a late age. I don't worry about any of what you said except that this boy has problems having friends. This is very challenging for a boy's self esteem. Self esteem is a gift that does not just happen. Family can nurture self esteem. School can be a nightmare for kids that do not socialize easily.
